Proposal To Form a Residents Association

Barnes Village Cheadle

If we unite to assert our rights as residents (houses, townhouses and apartments combined), we can control our future and the future of our investments in Barnes Village. At the moment we have no control!

Reasons to change:

  • No control over increasing service charges.
  • Lack of transparency in accounting and service charge fees.
  • The developer decides how your money is spent.
  • Gaps in accounts and possible mismanagement of funds – recently £22,000 was reclaimed from the developer for unpaid contributions to the service charge.
  • To ensure fees remain fair and reasonable for all residents.
  • Strong evidence suggests the Barnes Village Management Company Ltd are not acting in the best interests of the development and residents
  • Disputes regarding the construction of the buildings and defaults that affect the development have not been addressed potentially due to a conflict of interest (houses, townhouses and apartments combined).
  • Direct communication with HLM (no more: we act on behalf of our client emails – residents become the clients)

The fundamental principle is that Barnes Village should be managed transparently and efficiently and to do this we (the residents) can set up a Residents Association (RA) and remove the incumbent managing company BVMCL

To start the process 51% of residents (houses, townhouses and apartments combined) must be in favour and vote for an RA

Resident Directors of the RA would work with the Property Managing Agent HLM to make decisions on spending
